Predictive Analytics as knowledge source: OTTO wins innovation award

“We know what will be bought tomorrow.” Dr. Michael Heller, Categories Manager at OTTO highlights the use of big data analytics for the German retail group. OTTO won the 2014 German Innovation Award for its use of Blue Yonder’s Predictive Analytics platform. The software analyzes 300 million data records per week as part of a cutting-edge big data project and creates five billion individual forecasts per year out of that data. The result: an excellent ability to deliver, with low remaining inventory.
